Master of Barro Negro

Handmade in Oaxaca, Carried by Generations

Amando is a master artisan from Oaxaca Mexico, a village famed for its striking black clay pottery. Taught by his great-grandmother and inspired by Japanese ceramic traditions, Amando blends generations of inherited wisdom with a refined artistic eye. Working alongside his family in their home atelier, he shapes each piece entirely by hand—no wheel, only technique, patience, and the quiet strength of tradition.
