HANDMADE IN MEXICO

These hand poured floral candles are layered with love and inspiration - and have a charming story to tell.

STORY

Handcrafted from 100% pure beeswax sourced in Chiapas, these candles carry the soul of tradition and the scent of honey and wood smoke—a signature of the small Mexican town where Doña Viviana works.

A true artisan, Doña Viviana insists on hand-pouring every layer, a process that results in longer-lasting, beautifully finished candles. Trained in the art of candle-making since childhood, she once turned away from her family’s legacy—marrying a weaver at just 14 and leaving the wax behind.

Years later, while absentmindedly plucking petals from a rose, something stirred. The rhythm of her ancestors called her back to the wax, the flame, and the craft that had shaped generations before her.

Today, her smooth taper candles are available in black, gray, green, white, and a warm natural honey hue. Her exquisite specialty candles come in five distinct styles and a rich palette of colors—each one a testament to heritage, craftsmanship, and quiet devotion.

Doña Viviana Alávez

Doña Viviana handcrafts each of her remarkable candles using 100% pure beeswax sourced from Chiapas.

Now in her eighth decade, she has come full circle—returning to the ancestral tradition of candle-making that has been in her family for over 300 years. Each candle is patiently hand-poured, layer by layer, in a meticulous process that reflects both mastery and devotion. It is, for her, a true labor of love.

But her journey wasn’t always one of wax and flame.

As a young girl, Viviana left home to marry a weaver, stepping away from the craft that had shaped generations before her. Years later, a quiet moment of reflection sparked something deep within her—a calling back to her roots. Today, her candles embody centuries of skill, memory, and the enduring spirit of tradition passed from hand to hand, heart to heart.
